  • Pioneer Passport

    Rationale

Ensuring that our pupils are exposed to a range of experiences during their time with us has been a key focus at our trust for some years now following the introduction of our Pioneer Pupil Passports. We developed the Pioneer Pupil Passport programme in 2019 following extensive consultation with children, staff, and senior leaders in all our schools.

The Key Stage One Passport outlines seven activities to be completed by the age of seven (Seven by Seven):

    • Dress up as a mythical or historical famous person
    • Experience a forest and build a den
    • Go on a picnic with your friends
    • Make a boat and see it is floats on a river or lake

Key Stage 2 – Eleven by Eleven

The Key Stage Two Passport, which is eleven activities to be accomplished by the age of eleven (Eleven by Eleven):

    • Visit an art gallery or museum
    • Visit a castle or stately home
    • Visit a beach and paddle in the sea
    • Learn to cook a healthy meal
    • Experience the theatre
    • Perform a Shakespearian play on a stage
    • Attend a sporting event at a professional venue
    • Learn to play and perform a musical instrument

    • Learn a non-curriculum sport, eg. horse riding or golf
    • Visit a famous landmark in our capital city

    The Pioneer Passport

We are passionate in our drive in ensuring that children are exposed to a range of opportunities and experiences in their time in our School. The Pioneer Pupil Passport allows us to map key cultural, sporting, and skill based experiences through the children’s school time.

The passport consists of different activities aimed at enriching learning and life experiences beyond the curriculum, whilst with us.

We are trying to make as many memories for our children before the age of 11.

Experiences linked with the passport are identified on the curriculum map.

    Trips and Visits

Our staff enable children to contextualise their learning by leaving the school site and making educational visits at least three times a year.

We know children learn best when they can apply their learning to real life experiences. Our locality and proximity to London and the South East provide us with a wealth of appropriate sites and experiences.

Lessons in class also reflect this approach. We are always delighted to invite visiting speakers or workshop providers to bring the learning alive.

Each year, our Year 5 and 6 pupils have the opportunity to participate in a residential trip lasting three days.

Please visit our Latest News section to see the wide range of trips and visits that have been enjoyed by our pupils.

Families in receipt of free school meals and any other family in need will be supported with the cost of school trips.  Please always speak to the Head Teacher if you need financial assistance with any trip or visit.
