    Welcome to Shoreham Village School

Shoreham Village School is situated in the heart of the Darenth Valley in North West Kent. The school has played an important part within the life of Shoreham Village and the local community since 1841. The school, graded Good by Ofsted in April 2019, offers a broad range of academic, sporting, musical and social opportunities to its pupils who are taught in mixed age classes by a team of dedicated, professional teaching and support staff.

  • Cameron class recently enjoyed a trip to Tower Bridge in London, to support our learning in history, where we learnt about the importance of the Thames during the Victorian Era as well as how and when Tower Bridge was built and what the conditions were like for people working on the bridge. We looked at some artefacts to help us consider the importance of the docks and why London was such an important port in the Victorian era, as well as looking at the Census from the time to find out about some of the people who were involved in building Tower Bridge. We also had the opportunity to have a wonderful tour of Tower Bridge which included going on the glass walkway above the Thames and spotting some famous London landmarks from up high. We were very lucky to see the bridge open 3 times while we were there and we saw the paddle steamer 'Waverely' go through the bridge twice! We are so proud of Cameron Class who were praised for their excellent behaviour, questions and listening skills during the workshops and also people on the journey to and from London on the train, who complemented their behaviour.

  • Our daughter attends Shoreham Village School and has had a wonderful experience so far. The school are so welcoming and accommodating and the kids all seem so happy. She has not had a single day where she has not wanted to go in! The school are great at communicating with parents and give regular updates. They also welcome us into the classroom to do reading once a week with the kids and it’s lovely to feel involved. They arrange regular outings and invite parents into assemblies. It’s a small school with a warm and welcoming atmosphere and a caring ethos. Highly recommend!

  • I currently have 2 children at Shoreham & I can't rate this school highly enough. The staff are kind, caring and supportive. The school is small, which really suited my children and means that every member of staff and every child knows each other.

  • The amount of amazing school trips they get to go on and extra curricular sports opportunities is fantastic too... so far they have been to the London aquarium, the London Eye, Port Lympne, Wimbledon, Tate Modern, The National Gallery, as well as local trips to Castle Farm, Lullingstone, Stone Pitts farm strawberry picking and more. It's such a lovely little school!
