Shoreham Village Primary School

Learning today for tomorrow’s world

Timings of the School Day

School starts at 8.50am and finishes at 3.20pm every day.  This totals 32.5 hours per typical school week.

It is extremely important that children attend school every day to enable them to make progress and achieve. Just one day’s absence can mean that children find it difficult to keep up with their learning for the rest of the week, or longer.

Our attendance target is 97% and we work extremely hard to ensure that we meet that target. We work closely with families where children are persistently absent to try and support them to improve the child’s attendance.

Well done – keep it up!

We are monitoring your child’s attendance closely.

We are monitoring your child’s attendance closely with the Education Welfare Officer (EWO). You will be invited in to meet with the Mrs Desmond (our Attendance Officer) or Mrs Lovatt-Young

Below 90%

This is classed as persistent absence. You will be referred to the Education Welfare Officer for a meeting.

The school days starts at 8.50am. All children should be in the playground when the bell rings to signal the start of the day.

Any child arriving after 8.55am will be recorded as late.
